Methodology

How these rankings work

Every rank, badge, and statistic on this site is a deterministic function of public court records — nothing else. The same inputs always produce the same rankings, and every rule is documented on this page.

Based on public court records covering 143 Pinellas County attorneys · Updated June 11, 2026

What this site is — and what it is not

This is a ranked directory of Pinellas County divorce lawyers built only from public court records. Two sources feed it: each attorney’s case volume is their total dissolution-of-marriage cases of record in the Pinellas County Clerk index (the authoritative count), while the outcome and activity metrics — settlement rate, recent filings, expert involvement — are computed from an analyzed set of dissolution dockets, 2020–2026. Every number is a count taken directly from public records.

What it is

  • · Objective counts from public Pinellas County court records
  • · Deterministic rankings — documented sorts, no judgment calls
  • · Transparent badge thresholds, published on this page
  • · Refreshed from court data on a regular pipeline

What it is not

  • · No third-party reviews (Google, Yelp, Avvo, or anywhere else)
  • · No star ratings or invented composite scores
  • · No pay-to-rank — lawyers cannot pay to appear on this site or to improve their rank
  • · No endorsements — a high rank is a count, not a recommendation

The ranked views, and exactly how each is sorted

Most Experienced

SortTotal Pinellas County dissolution cases of record (Pinellas County Clerk index), highest first.

All 143 tracked attorneys appear in this view. A tie in case count keeps the deterministic order produced by the ranking script.

Highest Settlement Rate

SortDocumented settlement rate, highest first: settlement agreements in docket ÷ final judgments (fj_settled_count / final judgment count), computed deterministically in our pipeline.

Only attorneys with at least 20 Pinellas cases and at least 5 final judgments are ranked in this view (108 of 143 qualify) — small samples make rates unreliable. See the caveat below before reading anything into this number.

Most Active

SortCases filed in the last 12 months, highest first.

A signal of who is taking new Pinellas dissolution cases right now, across all 143 tracked attorneys.

Directory A–Z

SortAlphabetical by last name. Not a ranking.

Every tracked attorney (143 total), listed without any ordering by performance.

What “settlement rate” means here — read this before comparing

Share of final judgments with a settlement agreement in the docket. Dismissals are not counted as settlements, and most private settlements never appear in dockets.

That means this number undercounts real-world settlements — it is a docket-visibility measure, not a measure of skill, and it is never a “win rate.” An attorney who settles most cases privately before a final judgment can show a low documented settlement rate.

Badges and their exact thresholds

Badges are awarded automatically by the ranking script. The percentile cutoffs below are recomputed from the data on every refresh, so the numbers shown here are always the thresholds currently in force.

  • Veteran25+ years licensed to practice law.
  • High volumeAt least 317 Pinellas dissolution cases of record (top decile by case volume; current threshold: 316.6).
  • Very activeAt least 11 cases filed in the last 12 months (top ~25% by recent activity; current threshold: 11).
  • High settlementDocumented settlement rate of at least 52.5% (top ~25% among attorneys with at least 20 Pinellas cases and at least 5 final judgments). The settlement-rate caveat above applies in full.
  • Handles complexAt least 20 cases involving expert witnesses (top ~25%; current threshold: 20). Expert involvement is a proxy for case complexity — contested valuations, custody evaluations, forensic accounting.

Data freshness

Public court records flow from the Pinellas County clerk’s portal into a curated master dataset, which a deterministic ranking script turns into the leaderboards on this site — no step involves human discretion over who ranks where.
